This holiday at Redhead, I was given the mission of creating a grand and wonderful window display. I was totally geeked to receive this task as I really enjoy a good crafting project (when I have time)… so I was definitely game for crafting at work!
I started by doing some sketches and talking things over with Jen and decided to construct a wintery forest-like installation that combines papercraft and cool typography. With the help of my very patient co-workers, we cut out well over 100 squares to make several 3-dimensional paper snowflakes. Then, armed with a bone folder and a trusty glue gun, I tackled the trees. The trees were made from paper circles that had "typographic snow" scattered on them.
My deadline for this project was "before Thanksgiving," so when I put my last bead of glue on the last tree on November 24, I let out a huge sigh of relief.
The project is done now (yay!) and on view in our storefront for all of Old Town to enjoy. Happy Holidays!
